David Adeleke a.k.a. Davido popular Nigerian artiste wedded his sweetheart Chioma Avril Rowland a.k.a. Chef Chi in a resplendent lavish ceremony today in Lagos, Nigeria. And the internet is agog with its latest happenings.
The wedding witnessed the presence of who-is-who in the music industry in Nigeria, Africa, and the world with global music icons like DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, and others indicating their setting off from their various locations to be present.
Chief of come of the distinguished dignitaries was the singer’s billionaire father Ademola Adeleke arrived in Nigeria in his private jet ahead of the singer’s wedding.
The overexcited Davido took to the insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page to share a clip of his father’s arrival into the country.
“My twin has landed”
Upon arriving in Nigeria, Davido’s father Adedeji Adeleke was maintaining his usual calm composure in preparation for the big wedding of his son, Davido and Chioma at Eko Hotels and Suites.
He wrote; “My twin has landed”!! #CHIVIDO24 #PAPABEAR.”
Some of the artistes present and expected to perform included “Iyanya” the “Your Waist” crooner. Who was said to perform at the bridal shower for Chioma.
In his words, “When Davido called me to come perform at the CHIVIDO bridal shower, I just accepted without a second. I wasn’t expecting any pay because when I look at the things Davido has done for me, an all-night performance isn’t enough to show my gratitude. When I got there, Davido asked me how much he was gonna pay me and I told him I didn’t need a pay. But he insisted, and just as I was trying to deny the pay, he made me call with his manager and I received a credit alert of $100k at the sp0t. I couldn’t believe my eyes and Davido told me to go make his wife’s bridal shower a memorable one. Throughout my performance, I was just smiling and glancing at my account balance” Iyanya
It is said that every invitee coming for CHIVIDO2024 receives a Samsung Galaxy S Fold that costs $1700 which is over 2M Naira to ensure that no one takes poor pictures of yourself at the Venue. It is also said to be a partnership between Davido and Samsung to push the brand.
During the wedding ceremony as Davido sought Chioma’s hand in marriage in a prostrate posture to Chioma’s father and mother, as is the tradition when seeking for a lady’s hand in marriage in Nigeria. He was asked if he (Davido) was begging for her (Chioma’s) hand in marriage.
He replied “I have only two words Lifetime assurance”
He further went on to add “I promise her a lifetime assurance. Your daughter will be protected, respected, and connected”.

It is also speculated that before the wedding Chioma (the bride) made this statement:” I can never leave Davido even if he cheats on me. I know he loves me and will always do no matter what.” Chioma
And speaking on her bridal shower yesterday “I didn’t know that last night was gonna my bridal shower party. I thought it was a party because Davido said I was going to eat. I asked for the location but he didn’t tell me and when we got there and I saw the place, I just started screaming. Davido loves me so much and I also love him too.” Said Chioma
However, in another twist the uncle of one of Davido’s baby mamas and Founder of Ovation International Chief Dele Momodu sent his message to the couple: “On behalf of the MOMODU family of IHIEVBE, EDO STATE, I wish to send our heartiest congratulations to @davido and his lovely wife @thechefchi on this special day of their wedding. May GOD almighty bless the union and provide you with good health, more prosperity, and unlimited happiness.”
