Award-winning American rapper Ja Rule is making headlines once again, but this time it’s not for his music. Alongside his wife and team, Ja Rule arrived in Ghana recently for the groundbreaking ceremony of a classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School in the Eastern region.
This endeavor marks a collaboration with the US non-profit organization, Pencils of Promise, renowned for its dedication to constructing schools and enhancing educational opportunities worldwide.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Bruce Atkins Sr., has wasted no time immersing himself in the Ghanaian culture. Pictures circulating on social media show the rapper visiting significant tourist sites such as the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum Park, paying homage to his black ancestry.
In addition to his philanthropic efforts, Ja Rule has engaged with local authorities and creatives, including a visit to the office of the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman.
This initiative echoes the impact made by American comedian Michael Blackson, who inaugurated the “Michael Blackson Academy” in Agona Nsaba, Central Region, last year.
Ja Rule’s presence in Ghana not only highlights the country’s allure as a cultural destination but also emphasizes the importance of investing in education for the future generation.
