Bayern Munich prepare €80 million offer for Liverpool Winger, Luis Diaz

Bayern Munich are going all in for the signing of Liverpool winger and Barcelona priority target Luis Diaz.

The German champions are accelerating efforts to secure the Colombian international and believe they can land the transfer by leveraging their financial strength.

According to BILD (h/t SPORT), Bayern Munich have prepared a transfer offer of €60 million in fixed payments, with a further €20 million in achievable add-ons. This would bring the total package close to €80 million, nearing the amount Liverpool are demanding for one of their key players. Barcelona, by contrast, are not prepared to pay such a high fee.

Diaz has become a top priority for Bayern, especially after setbacks in pursuing Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams. They are unbothered by the high cost involved, even though they recognize they are unlikely to sell the player for a profit in the future due to his age.

Furthermore, the report reiterates that Diaz has already given the green light to the move, with Bayern Munich offering a salary nearly three times what he currently earns at Liverpool.

The wage offer is said to be similar to the one Bayern extended to Nico Williams, around €12 million per year, and far beyond what Barcelona can afford.

The player’s entourage is in constant contact with Bayern and now clearly prioritizes this option, despite Diaz’s long-standing desire to wear the Barcelona shirt.

Although he has never hidden his preference for joining the Catalans, the inability of Barça to guarantee his registration, and the salary difference of around €4 million net per season would, at the moment, tip the balance in favour of Bayern. Bayern do not want a drawn-out transfer saga, and are waiting for Diaz to take steps towards leaving Liverpool.

Diaz’s position is clear: he will ask Liverpool for a contract renewal offer that matches the market interest. If that does not happen, and with his current deal running until 2027, he expects the club to facilitate his departure.

Bayern are confident that this outcome is only a matter of time. Barcelona, meanwhile, have maintained ongoing contact with Diaz’s camp and are fully aware of developments.

They have informed the player that he remains their top target and are relying on a verbal commitment made as far back as last year to finalize the deal. However, they are also realistic: if the situation escalates now, signing him will become impossible.
