Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the flagbearer of one of Ghana’s major political parties , the New Patriotic Party (NPP), outlined his vision for the nation’s future in a recent speech titled “Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future.”
During his address, he assessed Ghana’s current state under current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s leadership and proposed strategies for advancement, including plans to streamline the government by limiting the number of ministers to 50 a reduction from 110 ministers at a time, so as to enhance decision-making efficiency. Additionally, he proposed establishing an independent fiscal responsibility council to manage budget deficits and interest rates, in order to ensure sustainable economic growth and stability in Ghana’s future.
