Nana Ama McBrown Reveals Why She Has Never Acted in a Nigerian Film

Renowned Ghanaian actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown recently shared the reasons behind her decision never to act in a Nigerian movie, a stance she doesn’t plan to change anytime soon.

In a candid discussion on her show, “Onua Showtime”, McBrown explained that her choice is rooted in the perceived lack of support from Nigerian audiences for Ghanaian creatives. She recounted a recent experience during the current season of “Big Brother Naija” to illustrate her point.

While watching a weekend party episode of the popular reality show, McBrown noticed that a song by Sarkodie, a prominent Ghanaian artist, was played. However, the track was quickly replaced within a minute, which, for her, highlighted the limited interest in Ghanaian talent within Nigerian media.

This incident, coupled with previous experiences, solidified McBrown’s resolve not to participate in Nigerian film projects. “That is why I didn’t shoot any Nigerian movie,” she stated during her show, reflecting on her decision to maintain her focus on the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
