The highly anticipated second edition of the Ghana Comedy Awards is set to take place this May, and expectations are soaring for an event that promises to outshine its spectacular debut in 2024.
This year’s Ghana Comedy Awards 2025 will return bigger, better, and funnier than ever.
Launched amidst glitz, glamour, and unstoppable laughter, the inaugural edition on April 20, 2024, solidified the award scheme as a premier event in Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
In this year’s edition of the Awards, Ghana Comedy Awards is partnering with the African Magazine and Media Organization, Global African Times, leveraging their platform to bring the awards closer to viewers and audiences across the African Continent.
With some of Ghana’s biggest names in comedy, including Clemento Suarez, OB Amponsah, Lekzy Decomic, and Jacinta, who took home prestigious awards, the night was nothing short of history.
This year, organizers are pulling out all the stops to celebrate comedy on an even-grander scale. “We’re looking forward to an unforgettable event,” says Dennis Boateng, CEO of the Ghana Comedy Awards. “There are exciting projects and activities planned to honor comedy in diverse ways, which will include special events spotlighting women in comedy, industry legends, and the sector as a whole.”
The CEO of Global African Times magazine & Media, Gustav Addo, also shared his excitement about the partnership: “Ghana Comedy Awards 2025 will be an event that Ghanaians and Africans will remember for a very long time. This time, we will be bringing it closer not only to Ghanaians but also to our entire African audience and to Africans in the diaspora.”
The big question on everyone’s mind remains: Will Lekzy Decomic retain his crown as Comedian of the Year, or will another standout talent rise to claim the title? The suspense is building, and only time reveals the outcome.
As countdown begins, fans can look forward to updates and announcements, leading to a big night.
