Ghanaian Rapper Sarkodie allows fans to own shares in his music

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has finally granted permission for his ‘lucky’ fans to own shares in his music.

In his latest tweet, Sarkodie (“The Landlord” as he is affectionately called) expressed his gratitude to his fans, whom he considers the best in the world, for their unwavering support over the years.

The rapper earlier in March this year hinted of his plan to give opportunity to his fan base to receive royalties from his music.

In his latest tweet on Wednesday, May 15, Sarkodie announced a new partnership that offers his fan base, the ‘SarkNation’, a chance to own shares in his music.

He noted that he has been wishing for this partnership for long as he has been blessed with the “best fan base in the world.”

If the rapper’s plan is finalized and implemented, he will be the new Ghanaian artiste to initiate such a move. And this will allow Sarkodie to share ownership of his music directly with his devoted supporters.

Sarkodie further revealed that he has teamed up with Opulous App to give away a good percentage of his upcoming mixtape, titled #TheChampionshipMixtape, to lucky fans.

His fans have already been reacting to his post on X praising him for such a move.

In his words, “I’ve been wanting to do this for the longest time because I’m blessed to have the best fan base in the world, ‘SarkNation’,” Sarkodie tweeted. “Thanks to @opulousapp for giving me the platform to give my fans the opportunity to own shares in my music.”

He continued, “Myself and @opulousapp coming together to give away a good percentage of my new mixtape #TheChampionshipMixtape to ‘lucky’ fans!

You guys deserve this and more for the support you’ve shown me over the years.”

Sarkodie promised to reveal more details on how fans can participate in this unique opportunity in his next post.

This move is highly commendable coming from one of Ghana’s finest rappers. And of course, looking at the business side it should rake in further cash for the artiste not only in Ghana but across the world.

Please stay tuned as Global African Times will follow up on this story and bring you more updates on it.

Congratulations to Sarkodie for this great feat.
